Beginner scorer’s practice log FIVB indoor learning example and blank rehearsal card. Not an official scoresheet, Libero control sheet or substitute for event training. https://learnvolley.com/how-to/keep-volleyball-score 2026-10-30 Practise before a real assignment Use a partner to announce fictional rally winners. One person records; the other checks the board. Decide in advance that scores are always written Team A–Team B, even when Team B serves. Use your organizer’s current official form separately when learning its boxes. Worked case: Amber begins serving with number 7. Winners are Amber, Cedar, Cedar, Amber, Amber. After the fifth rally Cedar takes a time-out. Next servers after a reception win are Cedar 8 and Amber 4, as supplied by the practice line-ups. Worked answers and the useful check Scores after rallies 1–5: 1–0; 1–1; 1–2; 2–2; 3–2. Next servers: Amber 7; Cedar 8; Cedar 8; Amber 4; Amber 4. The time-out leaves 3–2 and Amber 4 serving. If your partner shows 3–3 after the time-out, do not invent another rally. Tell your supervising referee about the mismatch and identify the last agreed score. Practise describing the event clearly, without blaming the board operator.
